Paul still enjoys kayaking and rock- climbing. He still holds a record as a Junior paddler in the Hawkesbury Classic canoe race, from Windsor to Brooklyn.

In January 2008, Paul announced his engagement to Angela Moses. Angela is an Occupational Therapist with Ruah in Perth. They were married in Sydney in January 2009.

The honeymoon was a few days in a houseboat on the Hawkesbury followed

by two weeks in New Zealand
